A while back, I believe I may have contacted your website in regard to a man whose name is William (“Bill”). If so, then I thank you for your prayers and ask that you please continue to pray with me for this man’s salvation. Please also ask God to sober him, heal him (if He wills it), to protect him, purify his mind, and work on his heart with His spirit; that He’ll place him in the company of believing friends, and that He will not only save Bill, but will bring him forward to proclaim his faith in Christ, and that He will use Bill’s testimony to bring others to Christ and further the kingdom. I am so very lost. I feel so very lost. It just seems that life has me overwhelmed and I no longer know how to deal with anything. I am a born again Christian. I know of His teachings and His ways but all I can do in the mornings is to wake and try to go back to sleep again. I am on medications for depression, ulcerative colitis, etc. My life is passing me by and I feel so very alone.

Her husband just died suddenly and completely without any warning, Please pray for her comfort and strength thru the next year and that she can figure out how to handle her household, children and finances as a single parent. She’s has been anemic and is not absorbing iron, and she’s been very courageous about all that’s happened in the past three weeks (her emergency C-section, needing to feed Bryson every two hours, watching her baby stop breathing, wondering if and when he’ll do that again, spending a scary night in the hospital with him). Pray that she’ll receive complete healing and that she will feel God’s presence and peace in her life.

The Butler Family’s Friends Needs

Please pray for Cathy Dressler and her husband Skip. She had MDS like MIchael did..and as with MIchael, she has progressed to AML…acute myeloid leukemia. The plan is that she goes to Johns Hopkins on Monday, and then be admitted to Hershey for induction chemo on Wednesday. The problem is she has no donor for stem cell transplant post her recovery from the induction chemo.

Please pray for a “new train to pull in” as it did for MIchael, with a drug that could buy her some more time to search for a stem cell donor. If there is no new train available, ie an appropriate research drug and and open trial that she would qualify for…that her induction chemo would be sucessful and she would remain in remission until a donor is found.

We are thankful that Michael’s drug has managed his disease somewhat and pray that it holds steady till post the holidays, when he is probably going to need a 4-6 weeks hospitalization for induction chemo.

…prayer also for a 20 something girl named Kelly…who also has AML..not as common in the younger set…she is having great finacial difficultites as well as needs healing.

Please pray for Mike Schreck and the doctors that are seeing him. He woke up in the middle of the night sweating, dizzy, and nauseous. Mom took him to the ER at Geisinger. As of now, they do not know what caused this. Please pray that they will find an answer soon and that it is nothing serious.

Please pray for mom’s friend Bob Vanatta he has an infection in his foot and going to see a specialist in williamsport on today. He also has three blocks in his legs that the doctors at Evan hospital said that they would not touch. Pray for strength and healing Bob is 71 years old.

Also pray for me I have had a cold since last week and don’t feel much better. Please pray for healing and that mom does not get what I have. I went back to work today but don’t feel well. We do miss everyone just can’t seem to get well enough to get back to church (devil I guess). Please pray for us.

Also please keep Sharon Klees and her granddaughter, Robin, in your prayers. Robin was 4 1/2 months pregnant when the baby’s cord got a knot in it and the baby died. The doctors induced labor, and she delivered a baby girl and named her Innocence.

Prayer Requests from a Missionary
1. It was looking for some time that our ministry would be hindered some since Bev wasn’t able to travel. Then the door busted open. We had put our trip to Antigua and Montserrat which are target countries on hold due to limited travel. We are so thankful that we are at Montserrat right now and have met with 4 pastors and churches, and some Sunday school superintendents about beginning a CEF ministry. Pray for the follow up of our time here and that God would raise up a coordinator for the ministry on the island and passionate leaders who would like to help get CEF started.
2. On Wednesday we are heading to Barbados until Sunday, the 30th. We are planning for future ministry and helping the staff to expand and multiply the ministry and outreach.
3. After Barbados it is onto St. Lucia which will be our final stop and will be there for 2 weeks. We are teaching a TCE along with 3 Instructor of Teachers candidates so they can be credentialed to teach on their own in St. Lucia. Pray as we mentor them and for the students who will be taking the Teaching Children Effectively Course. We will be conducting some training in two churches and teaching some Good News Clubs. What a priceless time!
4. Pray with us that Bev’s new visa will arrive in St. Lucia so she can fly back to Florida on November 14th. If it doesn’t she will need to fly to Canada and wait for the visa.

Please pray for my daughter-in-law, Angie Bowers. My son took her to the emergency room at Geisinger a little while ago. She’s had a severe bladder infection for a week, and though she’s been taking meds, it hasn’t really gotten better. In addition, she’s been having some bad side affects from meds for another medical condition that may also require emergency care. My granddaughter and her new preemie are staying with Angie and Tim,and they still need prayer as well. Please pray for God’s intervention and healing in all this. I really see this as satan’s influence on new, sincere Christians, and they need the intercession of God’s people.

I’d also ask for prayer for my job situation. I have been working part-time this semester. I’ve been on FMLA due to Ian’s health issues. I can’t use FMLA next semester. I have requested to use childrearing leave to work part-time next semester. This leave is at the discretion of the President (I’m a professor at Bloomsburg University). The Dean doesn’t think the President is going to approve my request. They really want me to work full-time. If he doesn’t approve my request, I am going to resign. I would love to be at home with the kids all the time, but it would be better for us financially if I continue to work part-time while Paul finishes his doctorate at PSU. I’m praying for the Lord’s will to be done, and for me to have peace while we wait for the President’s response as I’m not too keen on being in suspense. The health insurance we have through BU is much better than the student insurance through PSU. This is another reason I’m not really wanting to resign at this point.

Please keep my brother, Frank Nickey, in your prayers. He was sick over the weekend and was taken to Evan Hospital today and admitted. His blood sugar was quite high, and the doctors think he may have had a heart attack at some time, since they found some damage to his heart. He is on a heart monitor and remains in the hospital.
